At first glance, our congregation might look like an old-fashioned, country church. We would not be insulted by that observation, but that is not what we seek to be. We seek to be like the New Testament church. The inspired word of God that is given to us in the Bible is our authority and guide (2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:20-21). And as the old restoration movement saying goes, where the bible speaks, we speak and where the bible is silent, we are silent. So as it relates to our church, you will find that we try to do the things we see that the church did in the New Testament portion of the Bible and try to avoid doing things that we do not see done in the New Testament.

There is no more important part of what we believe than the all-important question of “What must I do to be saved?” We believe the following:

  1. You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 8:24; Matthew 16:13-17; John 3:16).
  2. You must repent of sin (Acts 17:30-31, 2 Peter 3:9. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Luke 13:3). Repentance is a turning from sin and involves both a sorrow for sin and a true desire to live nearer to Christ in the future.
  3. You must confess Christ (Romans 10:9-10, Matthew 10:32-33). This is a public proclamation to the fact that you do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
  4. You must be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-5). Baptism is not just a religious ceremony but is an act of saving faith whereby the believing, repentant, confessing sinner comes into contact with the blood of Christ.
  5. Live Faithfully (2 Peter 2:20-21). After being saved, we must continue to grow and follow the commands of the new covenant or we might fall away and be worse off than we were before. Living faithfully and growing involves the following:
    • Prayer: Matthew 26:41, Luke 18:1.
    • Bible Study: Acts- 17:11, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 2:15.
    • Worship: Matthew 18:20, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Hebrews 10:24-25.
    • Faithfulness: 1 Corinthians 15:58, Revelation 2:10.

There is certainly much more that could be said as to what we believe, but one restoration movement slogan will concisely wrap it up: In essentials, unity; In non-essentials, liberty; and in all things love (1 Peter 4:8).
